    Default Had to pry on old drum - Need to replace?

    One of my drums needed a lot of prying to get off a car that had sat for a long time and had a lot of internal rust.

    Now that I got it off, how do I know if I did damage/unbalanced by using my pry bar? I will replace all the insides, but do I need to buy a new drum for the payed side?

    Is there a way to tell before you part on the car/see uneven wear or hear vibration?

    Just as standard procedure, I would have the drums turned if possible. This will guarantee the inside is clean, round, and ready to go for the new shoes that you are installing. Your local NAPA, Carquest, Oreilly's should be able to turn the drums for you. Good Luck!

    I agree about at the very least turning them, but honestly you can get new drums for probably $25 a piece. I would probably just replace them with new.
