Default The Bubble Bee build, 86 to 83, what to adapt?

Hello FEP, been a while since I've been here. I was happily married to my 86 GT for several years, but then some idiot ran into her. I used the insurance money to purchase an 83 Capri. I'll be swapping over everything mechanical from the 86 EFI into the 83, basically complete drivetrain and suspension.

I've just started the teardown of the 83 and already noticed some things that are different. Does anyone have any input/feedback/guidance on the following?

    - Motor mounts, the dowel pin and main holes do are not the same. On LMR they state the holes need to be enlarged. Would I enlarge at the bottom of the slots?
    - ECU, the 83 does not have a large enough cutout for the ECU to go into the pass-side kick panel. Do I just cut a hole....or?
    - Washer fluid on the 83 is where the batter is on the 86. I plan to place the battery on the drivers side front like the 86. The 86 has the washer fluid in the fender where the 83 has the air intake. Any issues removing the air intake and putting the washer fluid?
    - Gas lines on the 83 are on drivers side, 86 is on pass side. Any issues swapping the 86 to the pass side of the 83? I also plan to swap gas tanks.

That's all I have come to so far. Anything else I should expect before being surprised?
    thanks,
    Dave

Also noticed the ignition harness is long, but looks very similar and includes TAB/TAD connections. Should I swap that also, all the way to the ign column?

edit: guess I should update my sig and picture, haha

Donít quote me on this but Iím pretty sure you can just take all the wiring from the 86 and just swap every wire into the Capri, not sure about the dash harness though. Thatís probably the easiest way to do it, but a lot of extra work removing everything. And the fuel lines should be able to run just like on the 86, swap the filter bracket and all over

When I converted my '84 capri from a carb to fuel injection I transplanted the fuel lines from a later model gt. The '84 fuel lines start on the passenger side at the fuel tank and cross over under the middle of the car. As for motor mounts I modified the holes and the new mounts still didn't fit.

Entire harness should work fine. Move the ECU under the passenger seat with an 84 bracket and an extension harness

Neat, never heard of that, I'll have to check it out. Someone else suggested I just cutout the metal in the kick (like they did), that just didn't seem right.

The harness extension is far easier than trying to MAKE the ECU fit.

Any idea where to get that extension? Been searching all night

Since the carbed cars don't have a space for the ECU, I mounted mine between the heater box and body. It's tight but it fit using the factory mount bracket. Only required to trim the kick panel slightly.

Any reason you can’t use the k member from the 86? You already know the mounts fit it right?
