    Default Hood differences

Is there any difference between Mustang 79-86 and Capri hoods 79-86 besides the scoops and vents.

Yes. Capri is like 1979-82 Mustang but not 1983-86.

Spacers at the K member is what the mod motor swap guys do. Adds caster too which improves steering.

    What engine are you installing?

Drop engine mounts can be used for the 302/351W if you need added clearance, obviously solid 3/4" drop mounts can help in clearance, but you may not enough the lack of vibration isolation.

As stated already you can use K member spacers to help gain some additional clearance too. I am not a huge fan of the option, but sometimes it is a viable option rather than cutting up a good hood, etc.

If none of that will work, then HO Fibertrends does offer a 2.5" Cowl hood so that's an option. http://www.hofibertrends.com/1979-19...ctionhood.aspx

Engine is 302/363 dart shp, Edelbrock air gap, 750 carb with 1" spacer. I bought the 2.5 cowl hood from lmr and it arrived yesterday. Like a dummy I didn't ck sway bar clearance. Sway bar is touching oil pan. Going to drop sway bar to see if that gives me the clearance I need. One step forward, 2 back lol.
