I bought Holley kit 3-1346 and the needle and seat seem to short. Float all the way up doesn’t shut needle. What’s the correct needle and seat part number?

You need to bend the metal tang that rests against the tab of the needle and seat. This is the metal part of the float assembly. Bend it so that the float's top is about parallel with the bowl roof, and about 1/16" of thread is protruding... this puts the very top of the needle and seat about mid way of the adjusting nut...

I’ll try again I did bend it some already. The old needles aren’t original and are longer.

Whichever... do what you need to do to make it right. It'll be fine.

old needle vs new
Yeah, idiots selling stuff... bend your float levers or lever tabs that go against the tails of the needles and seats to suit your situation and you'll be fine... and if you don't already have them, and they're not in the rebuild kit (I don't think they're in the rebuild kit), you're going to need the regular style adjusting nuts and lock screws for the needle and seat tops...

Are the floats Holley floats? Maybe those were changed also. The factory Holley floats' metal tang is bent at an angle, but it is slight.

Stock and original @ 213k, except for dynomax ultraflos.
Floats are Holley. Had to bend a lot but I got them set.
