I recommend the 3M VHB double sided tape. You need to make sure you are purchasing the automotive line of tape and not what the Big Box stores sell. I personally like the 3M 06378 for the body side moldings.

    Totally agree with Trey here!

ive used simple basic waterproof double sided tape before. Put some silicone on the top edge for added protection of the foam. It did work and it did hold up for years, but it’s not the right stuff to use.

Surprisingly I’ve only ever seen one where some dip used countersunk screws! They weren’t even painted to match or anything. Poor Mustang!

    Trey, that's the stuff I used. 1/2 " wide though. It's what I had

The 1/2" works, but I like the wider stuff for side moldings, especially if they are reused side moldings. The wider tape helps to hold them down well. A bit more $$ but better long term durability in my experience.

OH one trick of the trade is to not set the tape at the very top edge of the molding. Leave a small reveal of 1/16"-1/8" that helps to keep the tape from being as visible once installed and you don't have to worry about any of the tape pushing out past the molding when installing. Same for the ends of the moldings too. Good Luck!

Ok, today I got the body side moldings on, thanks Trey and Matt, tips were great. I also got the hatch decal on, ordered from Graphics Express in Charcoal to replace the original silver, never figured that out why Ford would use the silver on the white when everything else was black or charcoal. Anyway, now I am waiting on the new fender 5.0 emblems. Also wheels are in need of a good cleaning, actually would like to polish the ten holes to almost a chrome look.

Thanks everyone, the help on this board is invaluable.
Oh yeah, Matt said my pics were bad. I will get the wifes' camera or a new phone and see if I can do better.

    Thanks

    Brant
