Hi All,
it's been a while since I've been here (summer of 2016 to be exact). I picked up this 86 GT T-top project cheap. Not sure what to do with it, fix/drive as is, restore, restomod? Fun to be back into 4-eyed Fox Bodies!

For some reason you see that color combination a lot on 85-86 GTs but it looks mostly unmolested and original based on the 1 picture. The core support looks to have some damage but that is also very common and not a hard or expensive fix at all.
I'm not sure we can be of any help to you as far as what to do with it. It's yours and we have no idea what your goals, budget or vision might be. You could do all of the above you mentioned. I guess if we get a say I vote you put a flat-plane 5.2 Coyote GT350 drivetrain in it including the IRS.

This car has quite a bit of rust in the floor boards at the frame, also in the t-top channel. The bottom of the shock towers at the frame is gone too. It sat outside on grass for quite a long time. Too far gone?? I guess you can fix anything if you have enough money, which I don't LOL.

If you plan on keeping it, fix what you need to make it safe to drive first and then work out what you want to do with it.

If common sense was common wouldn't it just be sense?
