What valve covers did my asc McLaren come with? A PO installed EFI VC's and had to remove the passenger-side cold-air snorkel:

What options do I have so that I can re-install the snorkel?

The 85 CFI came with stamped steel, painted black valve covers. The manual cars with a carb had aluminum finned valve covers.

The finned won't work properly I believe. What can I use to replace the missing steel VCs?
Where were the oil filler & PCV valves located on the '85 CFI?

85 cfi had different valve covers than the 84 cfi? Strange...
I have no idea. That's why I'm asking.
So describe the '84 steel VCs.

I was commenting on the person that said they were stamped steel.
EmeryGT350,
My 1984 GT with CFI and AOD had valve covers were the finned aluminum ones and I had the dual snorkel air cleaner as well. I had the heat riser tubes coming up from the cast iron manifolds. My production date was late May 1984.

Thanks for the picture, Rob. Perfect!

Black rocker covers, see JA Cookes 85 CFi engine below. The mid-'85 CFI cars used fuel system components brought forward from the '86 model year. Not just the wet gear for the EFI, but rocker covers were being experimented with.
....the last CFi's were running the begining of the Port EFi crank case ventilation system. The old Y pipe was gone on the CFi engines, so it was easier for another set of cheeper rocker covers to be phased in. The computer was using most of the sequential wiring for the O2 sensor, and the CFi was getting more removed from the 4V 5.0. Not even the LSC matched the CFi's new found GRUNT. 180 HP of Pirate color rocker Ford, yarrrrrr.....!!!!!
Cheers,

Skye and the team at FEP look after band width by non repeating JPEG's when you quote.
Your above quote hyperlinks as "[ATTAC|-|=CONFIG]121346[/ATTAC|-|]" for your photo.
|-|= H
I have to open and share the actual full hyper link by using the phot properties in Outlook to make this link the active one.

Now, any truck with the 1979 to 1988 4-bbl Holley 4180C, 4190EG or 4195EG will be either 429, 460, 351W or maybee the 5.0 4bbl.
Any of those above were passanger alloy air cleaner parts for the 17" air cleaner...they will fit.
They look like they were all painted black, although some might have been repainted to fit custom applications, like that Orange F150 truck with the custom 429 antilation by PSSquare.
A 15" passanger side snorkle can be cut and shut 1" on the passenger side to fit a 17" snorkle.
1982 4.2 GT automatic
Or the 84-85 Central Fuel Injected Cougar, Thunderbird or Conti/ LSC Hash 7's(Mark VII Lincolns) got the Mr PunnyVerse 15"
Same basic part, the air cleaner passenger side part was extedend 1" for 15" air cleaners, and reduced 1" for 17" air cleaners.
And in FB71'S POSTS, you can see where Saleen got the big air cleaner top idea from for there 84/85 4V's. Its the later 15" CFi and 15" 2-bbl air cleaner lid with the same Corporals hat up kick.
Ford made the HO Mustang/ Capri 5.0 M-code CFi a very important step toward debugging the 1986 F code Port SEFI Fuelie engine.
The heated O2 sensor came out in the Port EFi Turbo fours, the later CFi HO, and Ford used whatever good gear it could find. TFi ignition was rolled out in the 1984 5.0 CFi HO, yet California 1984 5.0 CFi's in the Standard Output had Duraspark III, while everything else was TFi.
Ford was real busy using the CFi as a spring board to Port EFi, but the whole emissions package on CFi's was heaps less cluttered than the 4V M codes.
Far as I can tell, the alloy rockers were skipped for the HEGO CFi 5.0 HO engines.
