Default Anyone know the SEM paint code for sand beige interior pieces?

    For '86 Capri
I found an old forum post showing 4133, but that is not current and the SEM distributor I called has no idea where that number came from.

Are SEM paints the best to be used for these pieces? I would like to freshen up some pieces that are faded and will be picking up replacement pieces that may be a diff color.

    Thanks!!

    Tan Interior Paint for 85

The best I found is SEMs Classic Coast, color Medium Parchment, 17053, FMC BJCA. The can tops are not a close match to the paint. It took me a couple of cans to find the right one as the plastic cap can be misleading. Used it on the dash pad.

Thanks Kevin, just a follow up to this though, there IS a "tan" color and there is "sand beige" when you say tan in your reply are you referring to sand beige?

    and/or, have you tried this?

I have not tried any of the standard SEM paint for the tan/sand beige interiors, but I can say that the NPD SEM paint for red and charcoal grey were spot on with some other projects. I was very happy with the color match on those and wouldn't hesitate to order the SEM paint from NPD for other projects. Good Luck!

There is only 1 tan color Ford used in 85 and 86. Ford calls it Sand Beige. I used the Sem product on my 85. I believe it to be a good match. There are probably 5 different shades in the ASC tan interior.

Sem used to have a color chart listing OEM colors. With the cars getting old, the list went obsolete. I have the chart someplace but it’s useless now. Most of what you see at paint suppliers is colored for today’s models. It is formulated for interiors and is not your simple laquer paint.

The NPD Sem products appear to be custom mixes or maybe relabeled current colors which match. Others are often cheap laquer paint.

I dropped an order in for the NPD mix, I will let you know how close it looks. I need to do a black center console insert that I just got from Henry. If it looks "shady" (pun intended) I will give your color a shot and see how they look - could be the same, ya never know

Thanks for the info Kevin, I appreciate it.

84 would be Dessert Tan color. I believe it is a lighter color.

This is what I meant by "tan", I had henry send me some parts and I received a tan one on accident, which is why I said there was more than one color

The 84 ASCs are so rare, I never gave it much thought as being different in color.
