Default Clutch safety switch and reverse light switch.

So years ago, when I decided to switch to an auto for drag racing, I must have removed the wires that plug into the clutch switch, and the reverse light switch. Can anyone tell me how to hook up the clutch switch? I have a plug with two black wires. Is it just a ground with a 12v hot with ignition on? And for the reverse lights, where would I locate the harness?Name: 7275C3AA-A6E8-4080-B91D-BBE3CD0D6C4B.jpg

A clutch switch wire is just the trigger wire from the ignition switch to the clutch switch and out to the starter solenoid. It just one wire that goes down through the clutch switch and out to the solenoid. It's a 12 volt positive (hot) wire. There is no ground needed.

So I can cut the plug with 2 black wires, splice it to a wire that I run to my solenoid, that is hot with the key on?

No the two black wires are not the clutch switch. The clutch switch wires will be red with green or blue stripe. The two black wires I'm not sure what they go to.

That pic was to show the rubber boot to the right that I’m sure the reverse lights went through.

They plug into the two prong on the trans, and up on the clutch pedal box by the clutch safety switch wiring (reverse is a black plug, clutch safety is clear)

That is on the right side of the pedal box, near the tunnel? If so, that's the cruise / clutch disengage switch.. The safety switch is on the top left hand side of the pedal box.

So we’ve determined the plug with a switch hanging off the clutch, is a cruise bypass. With the help of Brock sending pics of what wires ran where, in the trans tunnel, the plug closet to the rear is for the speed sensor for cruise. The plug in the front doubles for the neutral safety on autos, and reverse lights for the 5 speed. I managed to find my plug. Together they look like this. As far as I can tell, the clutch start switch began in 84. Thanks a ton, Brock!

Glad I could be of some help. It's nice to have a close car for reference.

Do yourself a favor, if you haven't already and where that butt connector splice is use a heat shrink marine grade butt connector there. You wont regret it as it will keep it intact and waterproof, avoiding any corrosion issues down the road.
