    Default Seat stud removal help

Hey all, going to be replacing the back passenger floor pan in my fox and was wondering about the seat studs. What's the best way to remove them so I can reuse them with new floor pan. They are still in good shape so if I can save them it be a bonus. Thanks

Drill out the spot welds that hold the brackets under the car. Floor pans do not include these brackets and need to be reused with the new pans.

You can also buy a new bracket, which is what I did. I just didn't feel like drilling out all those spot welds.

I just grabbed myself one of these for that very job...

Looks fairly versatile and is supposed to save your threads. I don't expect to use it often, but I think I'll be glad to have it.

Simplest method would be to use two jam nuts on the stud. Tighten them together and use the bottom one to turn the stud free.

So are the studs threaded into the brackets? I'm new to this stuff so I have no experience. Can't I just cut the old floor pan out then drill spot welds on brackets out, take the whole piece and spot weld onto new pan?

Yes, the studs are just threaded in. Some of mine come out with the nut when I remove the seats.
