Could be. Seems like a lot of stuff for a 350. Will ask again next time.
Will prob be on display at another cruise.

    Puck shifter
They take 3 on the tree, transplant it to a console hole, then cut it down and leave the stump.
The old Chrysler transmission push buttons on the dash were cooler.
Even HD GM truck Allison automatic push button pads were sportier.
Nothing wrong with column shift auto in regular cars or pickups.

Looks like a GT500 to me. GT350s are not supercharged.

I think it's a 2020 GT500 with the track package due to the carbon wing and wheels.

    3x a 500
Grill or lack of resembles NASCAR Toyota crown Camry
7-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission DCT
    Raptor shift paddles
Carbon Fiber Track Package with no rear seat.
    Push button hood pins.
No to curb rashing the rims

The heart and soul of the 2020 Shelby GT500 is a 5.2-liter V-8 engine force fed by a 2.65-liter Eaton supercharger spooling 12 psi. The supercharger is mounted low in the valley of the big V-8 with a low-profile design as Ford didn't want it to stick up and create a hood bulge.
While the block is the same as the Shelby GT350's 5.2-liter engine, the internals are reworked, as the GT500 features a cross-plane crank along with with beefier block and cylinder walls, different bolt lengths, ribbing, and valve seats. To handle the G-forces around on the a race track, the GT500's oil pan features active baffling and side tanks. A magnesium tower brace is supposed to keep the engine from twisting.
To keep everything cool, Ford's installed six heat exchangers into the front along with an auxiliary radiator.
Ford didn't announce final power outputs, but said they would detail more closer to the car's launch this fall. One tantalizing detail: the GT500 will have more than 700 horsepower.
All that power will go straight to the rear wheels via a Tremec 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox controlled via a rotary gear selector, with three of those forward gears being overdrives while 4th gear is a 1:1 ratio. Plastic steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters let drivers to control gear input. Even though the GT500 uses a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox like the Ford GT, they're different transmissions entirely due to the differences in engine configuration. Ford developed four drive modes for the transmission: normal, weather, sport, drag and track, and there's also a line lock feature.

Looks like the red one i seen is in the background

You know, performance car marketing has been a bit confusing lately. Let's take a look at a few examples. There was the C6 ZO6, Focus ST and GT350. Each was a car that didn't necessarily just focus on horsepower. Other models had come before them with more power. Each was marketed as "the ultimate track (insert model name here)", and held the highest spot in the model line for a short time. Each had some sort of unique technology that made it special. The ZO6 was it's 7.0L engine, the Focus was it's unusually tuned steering, the GT350 was its flat-plane crank engine. Each was superceded by a much more powerful version that was also tuned to handle. The ZR1, RS, and GT500. Each new top model deleted what had made the midlevel version special. The ZR1 went back to a 6.2L and slapped a power adder on it, the RS had more standard steering, and the GT500 has more of a standard Coyote with a power adder. And these aren't the only examples. "This amazing new technology is gonna be the next big thing!" "Eh, you don't need it." I wonder how/why that happens.

And apparently the GT500's power figures have been announced.

    760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of torque

A bazillion and two instead of a bazillion and one as first thought. "Not as much as the Demon and Redeye! Mopar or no car!!" "But the Mustang is way lighter than the Challenger!! Go blue oval!". Meh.

    Amazing car and agreed, confusing.
Guess is they are mainly to lure average performance customers into showrooms.
To get that power from 317 ci and none direct FI.
No mistaking its a Mustang when styling clues are known. Lots still don't know what any new vehicle is without badges.

Could have had something more sporty or trick hidden than a trans dial on the console.
Dash buttons or something more clearer to select and lock down or lock out gear or accidental trans mode selection.
But these will never be a dd but strictly a status symbol car show and production 'race' car.
Contains expensive weight saving materials but strangely has a/c, radio computer, prob power windows, power mirrors, console.
Extra weight dd items that hard core race cars do not have.

Cant really be driven much due to all the special parts with limited future replacement availability for wear or damage repairs.

And the talk about electric vehicles being expensive, no quick refuel, with little profit margin.
Or autonomous robotics that are inflexible by nature and need constant babysitting?
Why the rush to invest deeply in losing propositions prematurely?
Driving a car has too many variables and priority choices for a slow non human computer.
Robots basically do nothing without human input and external power. Why complicate the driving experience?

Just how hard do they think people need to work and play?.

See with this, I still say Ford went ahead with it thinking they would sour people on small cars so they wouldn't have to sell them anymore.

    https://www.freep.com/in-depth/money...ct/1671198001/

Lose some customers? That's okay. They don't want small car customers anyway. They ain't got time to think strategically, long term about winning customers for life that will move up to larger cars.

One of the Ford displays at 2019 Woodward Dream Cruise. Setup for Saturday.
Same spot where the 67 Bullitt, 10 millionth Mustang were last year.
A Ford GT, 2020 Shelby Mustang, F series 4wd pickup, Explorer, Escape are nearby in the background lot all painted alike in that Blue paint.
Three different year Cobra R's are parked further down the row. No plates, prob Ford show cars.

You can't really say Ford's holding anything back with the current Mustang though. It's completely uncompromised. Only problem is, it's priced to reflect that.

Ok if seen as a deviation from the normal blah boring roller skate sneaker vehicle lot 'variety' of colors.
Mountain Dew lemon lime. So many contour reflections on cars nowadays panel colors don't match.
Mean looking 'eyes'. Choice of Toyota or catfish mouth grill.
Grabber Lime same as we nicknamed Sublime Green 'Snot' or 'Booger' Green back in the day.
Iconic as a car color if wanting to attract attention, now commonly seen as a safety-like color.
Ford Grabber Green got respect as a more 'mature' version of the color.

This is what Ford placed near it for Saturday. Part of the cruise presentation. Purpose??? No lack of color here:

I LOVE Grabber Green. I can't believe they haven't brought that back yet. Except very briefly as a Focus color in the early aughts. And it wasn't really right anyway.

Well, those of us who hoped Lincoln might continue selling sedans even if Ford doesn't seem to have suffered another blow. This article claims both the Continental and MKZ are going away very soon. ALTHOUGH, that may just be MKZ name. According to this admitedly older article, Ford has filed a new patent for the Zephyr name:

    https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...-sedan-future/

The Continental is likely dead for the foreseeable future, which SUCKS. It's manufacturing space is being re-purposed for yet another crossover. Yes, it will still be made in China, but as long as Trump's tariffs are in place, we won't see that. Best possible scenario is the MKZ dies after this generation and its spot is filled by a new Zephyr sedan. Either right away or after a short hiatus. RWD is even rumored. THAT would be sweet, and they could build it at a plant that builds Explorer.

Probably a more likely scenario though is Lincoln hangs the Zephyr name on a new crossover.

The competition isn't faring any better

    https://jalopnik.com/the-2020-cadill...gt5kAOIPs8ljdI

Caddy's new sedans are really half-assed. Although they do, in fact, exist, and seem pretty nice. I'll bet you they wouldn't even have RWD if GM didn't happen to already have a RWD chassis from back when they were trying. Being RWD definitely still makes them more legit than the MKZ and Continental, but at least Caddy sucks in their own way. The CT5 (that's a sedan) totally looks like a Nissan (an ugly one at that), and the XT6 (that's a crossover) looks IDENTICAL to the Honda Pilot. Not good for your upscale image.

On a side note, my dad is looking at MKZs, I'm trying to nudge him towards the 400hp 3.0 turbo...

Surprised to see people freaking out about Ford's shifting production from sedans to CUV/SUVs. The reason is CUVs are more popular than cars because modern powertrains provide excellent fuel economy without having to cramp up inside a low down small hatch or sedan. America is no longer dependent on oil from hostile foreign sources so the wild fluctuations are no longer beyond our control. The only variable is if a radicalized liberal gets in the white house and if that happens Ford is ready with plug in electrics so buyers will still be able to buy a roomy CUV without worrying about gas mileage.

So in the early 80s four eyed Fox era did you ever think Porsche would be making both CUVs and an SUV? How about BMW or Mercedes? Guess which is Porsche's best selling model today? Yep.

Does Ford need to build and sell more cars than anyone else? No. GM sold more vehicles in America than any other company for 70 years...and went bankrupt doing it. It's about building outstanding vehicles that hold good profit margins not giving away 4-door sedans to rental fleets at a loss.

Those same modern powertrains in a lower, more aerodynamic body provide even BETTER fuel economy. I certainly don't feel cramped in my Fusion. And what about driving pleasure? Crossovers handle like crap with their high centers of gravity.

When gas prices spike, people don't want to shell out an additional 5-10K for a model they were looking at for the plug-in version, they want something affordable AND efficient. Like a Focus.

And the fact traditional performance brands now make crossovers doesn't prove anything except that they like money.

They make CUVs and SUVs because that's where the market is today and making money is kind of the point of being in business.

A standard Focus holds such a low profit margin it hardly pays to design engineer and build the things.

A modern CUV handles and drives just fine for the intended buyer (never heard of a Porsche Cayenne described as "handles like crap") what people want is a vehicle that can do almost anything they need in one package and a CUV has the balance of interior room and economy to satisfy more buyers, the sales stats (and profit margins) prove that.
