    Default ID Kenwod stereo

Anybody familiar with this tape deck? Krc 2000
I bought it at a yard sale several years ago and forgot about it till pulling out some old boxes. Looks to be a factory install by the connectors? Anyone know if it was oe in something?

That is not an OE radio.
I have it's big brother the Kenwood KRC 8000 that looks just like this installed in my '84 capri rs.
I had it installed in about '85 or '86.

Thanks for the info. I won't be afraid to cut up the wiring and use it now.

That looks VERY similar to the KRC-6000 that was used by Saleen in '85/86. If you are thinking of selling, you might post it up in the Saleen section. While it is not exact, it would be a lot closer than having a factory unit or different brand for a Saleen owner.

I think the key difference is Hi Power Output (6000) vs regular...and in 80's terms it was probably like 25w per ch vs. 12.5

Yeah I was just going to use it in my SVO but if others could use it and appreciate it more I might just do that. I just want a period correct deck to replace it. My svo is an 84 and has the old style radio.

There were matching plugs with pigtails to go into that for ease of theft or hook up to a factory adapter.

If you still have the KRC 2000, I would be interested in it.
