"PAINT INSPECTION TRAVELERS"

in the floor of my Capri I have found 3 "PAINT INSPECTION TRAVELERS".
they show a Mustang body,and were written on,put in the car with the
writing side down and then painted over. I would post scans but I don't
know how to.has anyone else found these in their cars,or know what they
were used for?

NO I have not seen this before . Or even heard of it . I had my whole floor exposed , and seen nothing . I'm assuming this is the interior .

Yeah, I found 2 on the drivers side floor,painted over.The other one I
found on the passenger side,taped to the transmission tunnel.The 2 from
the drivers side show a Mustang hardtop,and the passenger side shows a
Mustang hatchback.Apparently my car had some sort of defects as some
areas are circled with writing on the chart on the bottom.I'm working on
some scans now.

Those are cool . Much larger than I thought . Some kind of inter-department document , never meant to be seen .

yeah,i've never heard of anyone finding these before.i found them while
looking for a buildsheet which i never found.

I have found both of my 79 buildsheets under the carpet on the drivers floor . It was stuck to that black tar stuff . They were trashed . Think I found a 2nd behind a interior panel . I have one now , its very fragile .

My 86 was still taped to the spare tire . Mint !

well i looked under carpet,behind interior panels,behind headliner,under seats.i didnt find it.i'm thinking maybe a previous owner found it.if it was in the spare tire well,the spare was removed from the rim and a full size
tire was put on it.i'm the 4th owner of this car.it was given to my brother
as payment for replacing a muffler on an 87 Cougar.is that crazy or what??????

I had to pull my interior out , cause it stunk . It had mice living in it before I bought it . Lots of seed crumbs all over the car . Even under the hood mat . They chewed though a sunroof drain tube .
