    Default Upgrading the T-top Coupe

My t-top coupe was begging for attention, sitting all covered. In the past I have regretted not doing the wheels and suspension so I put a poll on FEP. It was a hard decision but I decided on the wheels and setup for my suspension as stated in my other thread. Here are the wheels and the parts list if anyone has missed the other thread on them.

    STD-5558200 Steeda Sport Springs, 79-04 Mustang V8
    TOK-HB3026 Tokico Strut - 87-93 Mustang
    TOK-HE3608 Tokico Shock - 87-93 Mustang
STD-5554420 Steeda Steel Lower control arms, 79-98 Mustang
STD-5554094 Steeda HD Upper Control arms w/ bushings, 79-04
Mustang 5 lug complete conversion kit, front and rear
    used 87+ spindles
    Front Calipers
HWK-HB263F650 Hawk Ferro Carbon Pads, 87-93 Mustang 5.0 front ,HD street
    Raybestos Rear shoes
EAR-28B040 Earls Stainless Brake Lines - 89-93 Mustang, 2 front, 1 rear line.
WIL-2900633 Wilwood Hi-temp brake fluid, 570 degree dry boiling point
    MMM-CC7989 Maximum Motorsports Camber/Caster Plates, 79-89 Mustang
Rack and Pinion, 15:1, 87-93 Mustang
TRW-ES2150R TRW Outer Tie Rods 87-93 Mustang
ENE-410103 Energy Rack Bushings 85-95 Mustang

Well I hate to show you all what I got today but I got to. I found a good set of 83 GT seat with the rare netted halo headrests and rear seats. Found them on kijiji and I got them for 175.00 shipped. The drivers needs new foam for the back and mabe the bottom and I with re-aupholster it all. The rear seat will have to be changed because it's for a hatch not a coupe but the coverings should work for a coupe.

Excellent wheel choice. Those seats should clean up nicely & look right at home in your coupe.

Man I think the Mach 1 wheels look so good on our cars. Make sure to share some pics when you get them on.

Of coarse, the passenger seat is mint and the drivers is worn out. I hope the foam on the bottom is better than I think on the driver's side. The advantage about getting these seats is that the ones that are in the T-top coupe now will go into the two-toned coupe. Both sides win on this purchase. FMR will be getting a call for new upholstery. Now I have to think about weather I want vinyl or cloth....hmmmm.

The guy I got them from has mint door panels as well for under $100 a side. I am seriously thinking about getting them for spares.

Well, I know you all have been waiting patiently so I wont delay. Here come the progress and finish pictures. There are some pictures that are missing but rest assure they are coming as well. I just left the other SD car at the shop.

My nice new higher ratio rack and pinion

Here we have the new Steeda springs, upper and lower control arms and my nice new shocks. The Yukon axles that are used are in the missing pictures. I figured some pictures are better than none.

Here is the front end before the change

Time to test fit the rear wheels

Front end completion revieled original front struts. One strut was totally hooped. Banjo bolts were needed for the new braided lines. The rotors for the front needed slight machining because they did not have the chanfer on the outter edge. Everything else was straight forward.

The maximum motorsprts caster camber plates look right at home under the hood.

The car unfortunately was driven up in crappy weather and made the car very dirty(as seen in the photos). So I washed her up before taking these photos of the completed car. I still can't believe the end result. Enjoy!!

I will have to pay the lovely M/C bill first. Then after I get up off the ground from fainting, I will start looking in the Summitt Catalogue.
