    Default 1982 Mustang GT

Hi Everyone, Putting my 82 GT auto up for sale. Not going to call it a survivor. Its a clean car 53k on it. good driver or easy resto. Here is the spec.
    1982 GT
    Med Red 24
    Black low back buckets
    Non power car
    4.2 motor
    C5 auto
    8 track player
    14" rims
Runs great. Now the Bad as far as I am concerned
front bumper cover has the center blacked out. The head liner was removed. the drivers side seat has a hole in it.
I believe that there where not many auto cars made because the 5.0 sticks where more popular. 1800ish made.
Car is located in York , PA

SOLD. Please close. Thank you Rob

You can send me your email for more pictures.

Very cool car. If it isn't too much trouble could you snap an underhood pic and maybe a pic of the 8 track player?

I'll be honest and say that I don't want to purchase the car as I already have a 4.2 auto 82GT, I just think the car is unique and I'd like to see more if it isn't too much trouble.

Best of luck with the sale of this very uncommon and under appreciated classic.

Thanks for the pics. Great looking car!

If anyone is on the fence about the car, these 4.2's are fun cruisers that sound great and don't burn too much gas.

Man what a cool piece of history. I love this car. I would love to see this restored to 100%. Yeah, I know it would cost more than the CURRENT value of it but ONE DAY MAYBE!
    Good Luck!

The 82GT came standard with the 5.0L motor. The P16 code could be a GL car and not a GT.

The 82 GT came with an automatic as an option. you did not get the 5.0L you got a 4.2L with and auto. the production was low on the automatic cars. there was even a Turbo 4 offered in Canada.

Incorrect. The 5.0 HO was not mandatory with the GT package so there were 4.2 Autos produced.

Therefore no 5.0 badge on the side

What about the original hood? The GT had a hood scoop. Or was that hood only on the 302 equipped cars?

Hood scoop was for clearance issue the 5.0 was taller. I remember now the automatic transmission could not handle the power of the 5.0L hence the 4.2 was used.

incorrect. The 4.2L was produced specifically for fuel economy reasons. It's simply an under-bored 5.0L. It also had unique heads with very small oval intake ports, small valves, and a unique intake to match the heads.

The hood scoop was a non-functional styling piece only, as not all scooped hoods had the hole cut. The 5.0L and 4.2L fit below an uncut hood.

The scoop was a option also on the 4.2 auto cars. Most 5.0 cars had the hood with the scoop with the hole in the hood. I had a 82 GLX 5.0 notch with the scoop and hood with the factory hole. Factory said hole in the hood was for clearance.

I think you have a really nice rig there, I always look at it when I am in the classifieds. The 82's were the best looking Foxes in my opinion. The auto / no ac / 4.2 makes it a tough sale but hang in there, it will happen.
