Question What's the best adhesive to bond foam to rubber?

I plan to 'restore' my steering shaft to firewall seal, while I have the opportunity of having the steering shaft off the rack.

I have the old foam mostly removed but I only want to do this once so I'm wondering what the best way to adhere the foam to the rubber would be. I see 3M makes a slew of spray adhesives with different specialties and purposes. I figure it will be a high heat zone (engine compartment) and it will also get some rotational friction that it will have to survive. Any suggestions?

Most likely something like this would be your best option. http://www.hillas.com/Categories/Con...xoCig0QAvD_BwE

Although I am not sure that gluing the foam to the firewall seal is needed. The foam generally fits snug to the steering shaft and can just rotate in the firewall seal with the steering shaft, while still maintaining a seal. As long as the foam is in decent shape, I believe you should be just fine. Good Luck!

I used 3M spray to bond foam backed headliner in 1999. Still up there.
    Messy for small jobs.

    RTV silicone should work.

3M weatherstrip adhesive is said to melt foam.
