Will a 1995 mustang 8.8 disc brake 5-lug rear end bolt into a 1984? I know there is more to it then just mounting, but that will come later.

Yeah, its the same width.
Swap all the stock 4 lug junk, and you don't really need to change anything

You sure about the width? I always thought that the 94 and newer rear ends were a couple of inches wider than an early FOX.

Haystack is correct. The '94 - '98 housings are the same width as the '84. The extra width comes from the axles sticking out further past the axle bearing. Again as Haystack already said, You can even use the axles and brakes from the factory '84 model 7.5 rear, because they are the same spline count and width. Then you will end up with an 8.8 with the correct width for an '84.
