Wanting to clean up and detail some under the chassis and engine bay. What is everyone using? Just a pressure washer or a hot water or steam pressure washer? I have a few areas that have some dirt w/ oil or grease I wanted to get rid of.
Thanks

My buddy used a steam pressure washer on an outside lift (because of the mess). It was a 1970 Chevelle with undercoating that was original to the car. It came out amazing, I never would have thought it would have. Ill see if I have the before and after pics.
The picture to the right with the three shots is after he resprayed it with a bed liner.

Wow Thanks for the tip!
This gives me hope! I want to remove the "original" (dealer) Ziebart from my car.

Petrol on a rag, and a toothbrush dipped in Petrol and nylon scrapper, for the caked on oil and grease etc, will remove all except the grey undercoat. It is a long and tedious process, but when the car hoist, steam cleaners and sand blasters are not available, a bit of elbow grease produces the goods.
WD40 and PB blaster, liberal amounts. Lots of elbow grease and patience.
A good soap designed to cut grease and a scrub brush does wonders. Dawn, Joy, etc. not harsh at all but they will take wax right off of a car so keep that in mind when using.
