Default Part 3 - My Car 40 Years Later

On Friday March 16th the dealership called me and said the car was ready to be picked up.
On Saturday the 17th my dad came the 40 miles from Cleveland, to Kent where I lived.
We drove the 10 miles to the dealership in Cuyahoga Falls.

Before my dad co-signed the finance paperwork, he looked at me and said " You had better pay for this kid, cause I sure the hell am not".
After signing the loan agreement and the other paperwork they brought the car around.
The top was NOT painted white like agreed upon. They said they were not going paint it for free, it would cost another $200.
Now I was mad. I said we were leaving and that they could keep the car. They said the paperwork was signed, and I would still have to pay for the car.
I said, the paperwork says white painted top, and this car has none. So I will sue to get my deposit back. We then left the dealership with no car.

When ordering the car the painted roof was one of the main things that I wanted. They offered me a vinyl top for free.
But I said that I would own this car until the day I died. That a vinyl top would rust underneath and did not want that happening to my car.
They finally agreed when placing the order to paint the top for free. Now they had changed their minds.

    Stay tuned for Part 4

Jim, very interesting and fun to follow your story.

I love to see old window stickers and bills of sale. What caught my eye was $104 for undercoating. That's about $400 in today's dollars.....

When I Google Earth the dealer address, it shows a vacant lot. Is that correct? Any dealer pics?
