3 wks ago I bought a k member off '89 lx 5.0 on CLfor my 78 Fairmont ,giving nice coat of paint and now it won't fit ,the 4 lower holes doesn't line up with the holes on the frame can you please tell me what's wrong.

What brand K-Memeber? any pics of where it doesn't line up?
Stock k member out off '89 lx I'll get a pic up tomorrow
You're not wrong. I had to slot some of my holes and use the Mustang nut plate. Not too big a deal.
I assume you're talking about the holes in the floor to the rear of the engine bay, not the forward ones in the wheel wells?

ZephyrEFI, Yes the holes on the back of the engine bay,I did reams the holes but wrong direction if I reams it other direction I'm gonna need a larger washers.

Oops, didn't see the pics on my phone. I should mention when i did mine, I needed to ratchet strap the two sides of the k-member together and pull them in (closer to each other), otherwise the holes did not line up at all. That definitely looks like what you've got going on there. My k-member is a QA-1. Sorry, I hadn't remembered that part of it until I saw your pics just now.
What I was saying before is also true though. The holes are a different distance apart going from an early Fox to a later Fox.

I've been busy today trying to get the holes to line up, I made a mistake by widen the holes outward 1/8" so I reams the holes inward about 1/4" .
