Default 9 Inch On Truck Tech

It's always nice to see them working on a Ford on this show. Their '74 F100 is sweet.

It showed them adding gears and a locker to its 9-inch this week. I had never actually seen it done, setting up a 9-inch. That was ridiculously easy!! It made me angry how much f***ing trouble the 8.8 is to set up!! WHY? WHY WOULD YOU GO BACKWARDS?! "Hey, let's put in a rear end that's not as strong, and a whole lot more trouble to work on. Yeah, that sounds good."

Heavy, heavy bi@#h. Plus, everything is easy on t.v. Hell, i watched them 5 lug a fox in twenty minutes, including a cobra booster.

Yep..... horribly misguided and unnecessary. Teach us all how to be cool parts swappers that don't know anything about what we took off or what we put on or why!

I will refrain from going too deep into commentary about cobra boosters and cobra MC vs stock booster and M1858. Avoiding before I rant about it.....

Well, setting up an 8.8 SUCKS. They could have kept SOME things about the 9 inch, instead of directly ripping off how Chevy does it with the stupid freakin' shims and stuff.

I must have gotten lucky, I swapped gears and bearings on my 8.8 and used all the shims that came out in the same positions.
