    Default Carb Spacer Question

Does anyone have any experience with phenolic spacers and the EGR port on the stock '83 intake? I have a spare 4 hole lying around and not sure I can use it or do I need the aluminum one from Edelbrock? I am not using the EGR plate/valve on my stock-ish build. TIA

None that I've seen would cover the port in the intake. You are better off replacing the intake manifold anyways. The factory one is quite restrictive. A new intake will work well with the new carb, and will gain you some performance to make it all worthwhile.

I would love to but I'm on a Ramen budget. I'll be using the factory intake and carb for now just so I can get it back on the road. I am also using a stock roller bottom end and cam with E7 heads. I'm still in need of a good fuel sender/pickup and clutch kit for a 4spd. I'm trying to use as many of the stock parts off the parts car that I can since the money tree isn't producing this season (kid starts college in the fall).

The little kick out on the Edelbrock 8714 looks like it would cover the EGR port. Thoughts?
