Thread: Fun Fact

    Default Fun Fact

I have been spending some time doing research on my 79 Festival Pace Car #42. One thing I was trying to determine was who rode on top of my car during the parade. Well, a guy from a facebook forum posted this link and I was able to see which celebrity was chosen to ride on my car. For the older crowd, it was Ma Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie Karen Grassle). Here is the link to check it out.

That’s classic. Is she still around?

Send her the pic and get it signed. Not sure it makes it worth anymore but some cool documentation.

This is awesome! And yes, if she's still around, it would be cool to have an autograph or something to go with your car. We watched that show when I was a youngin. I didn't care much for it because it was a western, but no shooting lol! I still collect old lever guns till this day!

Special car and nice research work.
If date is found, that's were your car was.
I would absolutely try to do the autographed pic.
Little things like that are very cool to have and display if at a car show.

It is possible a real nice copy of pic can be obtained by contacting one of the named parties.
I did that once to get a mag ad pic. Aerial view of SF from just over the Bay bridge looking NW.
Wrote to HVAC company Trane (the ad).
They sent me a cool 7x10 from the photographer who took it.
A clear color glossy pic minus the Trane ad that was later superimposed on it.
Included was a note from the photographer thanking me for appreciating his work.
It is framed and on the correct west living room wall as if looking out a 7x10 airplane window at SanFran.
Gee, just now found picture frames that look like an aircraft window....

Thanks for the feedback. I was able to get in touch with Karen Grassle's talent agency in CA. They said that if I mailed them the pictures, they would ask her to sign them for me. They are scheduled to arrive Monday, 3/19/18. I asked if she could personalize the pictures citing car #42. If she sends them back, I will try to post them for all to see.
