    Default Sticky Steering Wheel

I've got a 86 GT (owned since 8 that I'm pulling out of storage and putting back on the road. The steering wheel is sticky. I've tried some cleaners and seems to stay sticky. Anyone had this issue and resolved it. Has anyone had there wheel recovered? Thanks.

When I got my SVO both armrests were very sticky. I used 3m adhesive remover and it worked great.

You probably will have to use something a little stronger than interior cleaner. Try something like Simple Green but carefully so it doesn't remove color or damage it in some other way.

Last summer I cleaned it really good with rubbing alcohol and then with Fantastic.
Sticky has not returned. I thought it was melting or something.
Lots of FREE F/Z info on my site.

Have a Grant GT foam rim wheel in my Ranger that was very sticky today.
Temp was in the 50's and damp.
While warming up the truck, tried to clean with no success.
Rubbing a dry towel over it made things worse.
After warm up, stickiness dissipated a couple blocks later without cleaning.

I ended up using acetone on mine. Sticky is gone for now. We will see how long it last. Thanks.
