Default 85 police pkg 5.0 cfi engine ?

I’ll be picking up an 85 Ltd with the cfi 5.0. I read in another post that the block should be roller cam compatible. My question is regarding the pistons. Are they forged? Aslo, do they have valve reliefs or are they flat top like the 86 h.o engines? Would I be limited to certain cams with this engine?

They have eyebrows, I do not beleive they are forged, but that really only matters with a ton of boost or nitrous.

The 85 LTD LX I have didn't have a 5.0 roller block, it was a standard 5.0 block. If it was available, maybe it showed up later in 85?

I had both a 1984 and 85 and neither had a roller cam and had flat topped pistons... I did however put a roller cam 5.0 in my car under the CFI. I eventually replaced the intake and put the SEFI out of a 1991 Mustang. What an improvement. Just in drivability. I still own the 1984 and my friend bought the '85 and he replaced the CFI with a Edelbrock 4 barrel. It runs great.
