Replaced the master cylinder and finally got brakes working again in the pace car (new mc was bad out of the box, so I've been fighting with trying to bleed the daylights out of it). Since it stops now, I decided to pull it out of the garage and wash it for the first time since the new paint. The seats are still in the upholstery shop, but I managed to rob one from the cobra to take it down the road. Didn't go far, since I need to do some tuning to it, but it was nice just to get it out and knock the dust off. Later this evening, I pulled her back inside and installed the new dash.
I probably should have taken some pics, since it was out in the sunlight...but I stayed busy all day and it never even crossed my mind.
Picked up a clean set of 10 holes from Craigslist!
Loaded up my rely clearcoated svo wheels to get some tires put on them so it's ready for it's showing in the AACA museum starting later this month.
On one hand I can't wait but on the other hand I'm afraid I'll be lost without it all summer. That's my "jump in and go without worries" car. I still have the Saleen and my 66 coupe but the svo is best on gas
Ordered 4 tires from tire rack.... (2) 245/45/17 and (2) 275/40/17

Drove it, continuing to enjoy it's antiquated Holley 500 two barrel carburetor in place of cfi injection, now getting 34+ mpg as opposed to it's hilarious 15-ish mpg with 1986 fuel injection better than all else delusionary state, LOL, and electronic ignition simply dialed in for the combination, running like a CLOCK.

While playing around on the net, looking for cool stuff for the grand celebration of the second anniversary of my purchase of my McLaren from Mustang Marty, I discovered that the Wikipedia picture for asc McLarens - Wikipedia.org > Mercury_Capri > second generation > variants > asc McLaren https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Capri was of my McLaren (edited screen capture):
- not much use to phone users so, as downloaded from one of Marty's ads, file date 2006/11/11:
and with a couple of clicks, Wikipedia gives proper accreditation of the pic to mustangmarty.

finally put my center molding on today now just get my recaro seats recovered and install them and I am done I hope
What a great looking 82 GT! Reminds me of the silver 82 GT that made me fall in love with the fox body way back when. The coolest model year for sure.
Made an 8hr round trip to meet up with riffenfool to get the batch of parts he still had for his old '79 Capri RS, and to do the paperwork. My youngest son is going to resurrect it.
Got everything apart from the water pump, radiator, and a/c condenser. Plugged two unused threaded holes in the timing cover which are believed to be the cause of my come and go coolant seepage.
Polished the new radiator tanks and getting ready to put everything back together. On a side note, when I winched the Cobra out of the trailer so I could work on the 86 the big ass oak tree it sat under is dripping sap, plus some of the coolant from the 86 dripped on the Cobra also when I winched it back in even though I was sure that it wouldn't, oh well, just more work for later on.
Turned 60K this week:
Then gave the girls a bath today:
Yes, my Christmas lights are still up... it's kind of a running challenge in the neighborhood to see who can keep them up the longest... I'll win.

I delivered the SVO to the AACA musuem this afternoon. Then came home loaded up my wife's 915.0LX and took it to the museum
Swapped the wheel/tire sets on my two Foxes back to where they ought to be.

Got the condenser in and the A/C system sucked down. Water pump back on and plugged unused threaded holes plus sucked down cooling system after installing new polished radiator.
Had a couple glasses of red wine and some beer nuts. To tired now, I'll finish it up tomorrow. Sure beats working flat rate, should have finished this last week but what's the hurry when you're retired, besides, when you got a slight buzz you make stupid and costly mistakes. Ask me how I know that. Later dudes.
Hmmm, I suppose I should play along alhtough I'm facing the reality that I'll probably have to sell my car soon (trying to buy a house). I've had the car for 2 years but it's been in storage the whole time while I worked/studied. The once like new tires are dry rotted so I didn't have any mercy on a brief cruise
Love that car. I had the chance to visit the Roush collection a few years ago. Could hardly keep my mouth closed - jaw dropping stuff at every turn!
WOW. I need some of that action on my next Four Eye.
Oil and filter change, new front pads, rotors and bearings and a set of NOS "SVO Motorsport" splash guards. I'll get some pictures today if the weather cooperates.
