Before I came back to the ship, I opened the door to my storage and gazed wistfully at my Zephyr, still sitting patiently. :/

I'm currently wrapping my Fox. I finished up the trunk tonight and just have the rear quarters, rear flares, taillight panel, sills, and the roof (front half of the car is done + trunk). Should be done in another week or so.

Talent is subjective. I'm still a novice at it. I get the basics and am learning on every piece I put on.

Default Car as parts runner for truck

Car to haul rare like new drivers bucket seat for my 93 Ranger XLT reg cab home from the pic-a-part.
Truck has hauled car's parts: car returns favor and hauls truck's parts.
Truck's current 88 Escort GT bucket seat pad is pretty much gone. Storing it.

Found seat in a 1992 Ranger STX S.Cab. Power lumbar and bolster. Adj thigh support. Manual track. 25.00
Stripes kind of remind of pc Recaro pattern toned down 100x. Seat cleaned up great.
Woolite foam and Simple Green. Brush, wet rag, air dry.
Similar to 80's Mustang GT? Sits higher due to supercab double track stack for tilt and slide.
Seat track swap/adaption another issue but did it. Reg cab bucket/floorpan has different tracks.
Photo is the 'yard truck before seat removal. Dirty truck interior, clean seats. Weird. Pass seat had more wear.
    Moved it in a wheelbarrow.

    Solved:
Parallel hard wired 3 cluster wedge bulb socket pigtails to existing regular wired dash light circuit.
Cluster printed circuit overlay is no longer used for cluster light power.
Rubber grommets fix the damaged, now oversized, cluster bulb holes. Mod 1 done few years ago.
Been using plastic push in pigtails with the rubber grommets. Work ok, but little loose. Low profile.
Recently found round 13mm rubber push in type work better. Made to take heat of halogen wedge bulb. Mod 2.
Now, a solid straight controllable depth fit into rubber grommets. Bright like new, dimmable, inexpensive.

Just found out slightly larger sockets (15mm vs 13mm) are avail. that may fit without a grommet.
    15mm= DVD center hole.

Swept bits of white plastic cluster crumbs from under mask with acid brush. Buffed both sides with microfiber cloth.

Nearby dash VDO voltmeter was not as bright as main cluster. Changed 194 bulb to 2825, blue boot cap. A match.
Have you thought about the LEDs from SuperbrightLEDs ? I just replaced my cluster illumination bulbs (5) and am pleased.

Nah no led. Too expensive. I prefer incandescent color temp.
Blue 194 2cp, 168 3cp, or 5w 2825 with blue caps work fine. Correct no glare soft clear back lighting for night driving.
    Read 194 is about 25 lumens, 2825, 168 50 lumens, LED 50+.
Removed all blue masks. They crumble from heat. Now the bulbs have more ventilation.
The problem was the twist in bulb sockets no longer stay in place.
The plastic holes are 'stripped out'. Sockets no longer contact the printed circuit.
Hardwired rubber pigtail bulb sockets solved the problem for 6 bucks.
Solid contact and full power to bulbs glow bright like they used to and are dimmable.

I finished the wrap on my '80 widebody project on Friday afternoon last week, then wiped it down for a few pictures. I had a deadline to meet for a wrap contest on Saturday, so I shot some video also. These are my 3 favorite pictures I took on Friday evening at sunset. I started to put the interior back in last night, and should get a lot of it done this week. There is a car show this weekend I'll take it to to debut the wrap in my local area.

Drove it 50 mile round trip across town to an estate sale.

Picked up like new items: vintage tabletop rod hockey game, air hockey, and Sears 10/2a auto battery charger in box made in USA.
6 or so for gas, 30 for items. A nice weather day and good pick'ens.

Cool to get long looks, nods, thumb ups at a light from other drivers or road construction workers and is not a show car.

Drove it to get spare factory radio from pic-a part i spotted last week. I use 90's Escort radios.
Very hard rain on way home later after dark. Avoided puddles and freeway.
Running light red LED on/off/flicker. Lights were ok. No pattern. Random.
Checked in parking lot and reflections off store front glass.
Fogs, lights, defog, wipers, defrost, radio on. Charge 13v+ ok. Belts never slipped.
    Strange.

    Default buck day 1978

Car was bucked 40 years ago today at DAP.
Imagine it was painted by this time.
    Assembled on Oct 4.
Was on the truck for delivery 735am Oct 5 '78.
Thanks to Marti report, will 'celebrate' by driving it.
Maybe retrace the 16 mile delivery route from DAP to where the dealer was in 1978.

Prob will hear Boston- 'Don't Look Back' on the radio.
Overplayed then in 10/78 and now in 2018.
1978 zodiac animal was the Horse.

Prepped a small part of the 40 year old floor pan for future repair.
    Polished rear tail lens.
