Finished up my cooling and a/c upgrades, now I got another problem, the engine overheats, which has never happened. Sucked the system down and tried it again, no luck. I think there is a problem with the new water pump, either boxed wrong or manufactured wrong. There is no flow through the radiator or heater core but it gets hot and the t-stat opens up.

I'm gonna take it apart again tomorrow, crap.

Lazy Sunday. Fussed and fiddled for a couple hours building a remote TFI for the Fairmont. I'll install it tomorrow when paint on a little doo-dah bracket is thoroughly dry.

Default Cobra brakes, MM control arms, MM front coilovers

Almost finished with the Cobra brake upgrade, MM front coilovers, MM rear lower control arms, new stock rear uppers and new SS brake lines.

Had HPM lower and upper arms with urethane bushings before this. Looking forward to how it will ride after these changes.

Have the MM panhard bar to install as well but will put that on later.

Thinking about the silver running horse logo on the front calipers since I have Bullitt rims.

I painted the front half of the car last week in flat black to throw some color on and prep it for wrapping later this year. Not digging the color. Thankfully it is temporary. I feel like all the work on the widebody paid off though. Everything fits relatively well after reassembly.

Default Left lights on- no buzzer

    Sunday
    Browsing inside flea market.
Heard announcement in store: "Capri in lot..lights on".
Although a Mustang, pretty sure it was my car. Off/on rainy day.
Yup. 1/2 hour, low beams and ds fog. That is when i seen ps fog was out.

No start. Click. Had to break out the jump box.
    No go.
Then tough guy security piles on- said "closing gates in 45 min...
Gonna have to leave it till Monday."
I grumbled "like hell am leaving it. Am gonna be outta here even if i gotta push start it".

Passer by offered jump cable start. Very little english, but enough to understand.
He laid cables on ground, went back to move in position for jump.
Peak jump box thought was about to get 'the belt' (jump cables) for acting up?

Gave box one more chance. Click.
One more try- click, then cranked and started like normal.
?? May be a failing starter relay.
Thanked the jump guy for his help. Got the hell out of there.

Drove car 2 miles to oreally?s to check on a carburetor part.
    Car started fine.

Thank you much for concern and getting my butt to go one step after known fact.
Solenoid starter relay is 20 years old. Its due. Just placed it on new parts list. Before it fails big time.

Always checking best one can. Visual and physical redo as needed to scramble the bomber.
Tests with multimeter, test light carried in car toolbox. Have EVTM almost memorized.
All connections good. Red donuts on terminals. Clean battery top. Gets regular daily driver maintenance.
Old cars can develop grounding issues everywhere. Especially engine compartment components, lighting.
Have even added several backup extra ground wires/cables. Alt bkt, engine, battery.
Including extra solenoid fender screw to rad support ground wire.
3 year old Exide battery fine. Onboard Exide 1.5a auto charger. New 70a 1g alt.
Lifetime wow 5 year old Ultima starter from oreally. Just in case it fails on road, plenty of their stores around.

Normally, car starts fine under any conditions, recharges quickly. Excellent VDO voltmeter installed.
If the boob shuts the lights off. May need construction style backup alarm for warning.
When car does not start, a very quick charge seems to do the trick.

Finally got around to replacing the brake light switch pigtail...brake lights still not working AND now my battery is dead (haven’t driven it in a few weeks since the brake lights quit working and several periods with the door open/dome light on trying to fix it). That’s pretty demoralizing after my contortionist act this morning. Might wave the white flag here and take it to a pro.

Replaced the signal/hazard switch in my 86 GT today. It stopped working a couple weeks ago. When I unscrewed the old part a piece of metal fell out which had clearly cracked off over time (in two places) so obviously that was why it stopped working!

Good news is I was able to find the original Ford OEM part as NOS on e-bay for a reasonable price, and avoided adding some crappy after market part unnecessarily.

charged the battery, filled the fluids, put the top down and went for a long summer cruise! also, found out what the issue was with the stumbling and hesitation I have been experiencing. 33 dollars and wait till Friday and hte new spacer between the CFI and manifold comes in....bye bye hesitation issues!!

Looks nice, just be sure to remove the rear springs and check for interference between that style diff cover and the spare tire well at/near full compression.

A few of the fins may need addressing, been there with my setup.

Thanks. I will double check but I've been running that diff cover for a couple of years already.

In that case the differential cover already moved the sheet metal out of it's way.
I did it the hard way.

Finish floor pan rust hole repair with metal plates and 1/4" rivets.
Seam seal. Treated area prior with 3 coats flat black Dupli-Color Rust Barrier spray.
Will topcoat with satin black paint.

At 3pm, spot measured temps of car with ir thermo gun. Parked outside facing south.
Top roof, area just aft of w/s = 190°.
