I have to ordered a vacuum pump assist. Engine is only producing 12hg. First test drive was fun with very little brakes.

    Default Car signed the pavement

Quick test of repair (replaced ps rear LCA) Saturday.
Stock salvaged 85 SVO round bushing control arm.
Launch rpm about 2500, stayed in 1st gear.
Backed off to turn into 3rd driveway in picture to park.

Finished installing Crane 1.7rr's and took it for a short test drive. Seems to have responded well to the added airflow. Need more seat time and time for the computer to learn to really tell the difference.

It's a 98' Explorer motor with P heads, FMS shorty headers, stock HO cam and TFS valvesprings. Makes decent power for a cheap swap.

My cars paint was badly oxidized. The cars sit uncovered outside in the California sun year round.
Needed to fix this because car show season is upon us. Bought a bottle of Meguire's Ultimate Compound.
It worked a miracle. Last year I just would wax it with color wax to make it look better. This was like a
new paint job in a bottle. I did the Coupe first, and then the 4-door. You need to wax it after using the compound.

    Coupe

    4-door
Then on Monday I took the day off and had the 4-door smog checked again.
It passed with flying colors unlike the problem I had in May.

Test fitted new fiberglass hood today. I think it look pretty sharp. If things go good will be installed next weekend. Also received vac pump and cannister for brakes. Hope to wrap up engine swap next weekend.

I got the power lead for the amplifier passed through the firewall, dash, & console. Amp is under the front passenger seat. Couldn't find anywhere else that it would fit.

    That looks great!

If you really want it to pop, do the Meguiars 4 step.
Start with #7 glaze, follow it with Ultimate Compound, then use Ultimate Polish and finish off with Gold Class wax. That paint will pop hard afterwards and look amazing.

Yeah, I just bought the Ultimate Polish yesterday. I will re-do it with the polish it in another month. Was in a hurry the first time and was skeptical of the results.
Those half pictures were before the wax. I use Meguiar's NXT. You can do the whole process by hand. No machine needed. I just used it because I have it.
Just got a video from one of the auto stores that showed the correct process.
    Thanks for the tips.

Since I had a rainy day today, I was able to take a break from deck building and finally install the rear end that has been sitting in my garage finished since September.

Drove it to Detroit area's Downriver Cruise.
Hot day 90's, no rain this time. Waited until late afternoon.
Nothing like cruisin windows down, radio up.
Water temp stayed at N no higher the whole time.
Full synthetic 10w30 oil got a workout. Oil press was good.
Towel on vinyl seat back, Coleman cooler in pass foot well.
Ryobi 18v fan did a great job cooling the driver.

Need more pics of that gem on here. I remember when I saw the CL ad for it and was thinking about going to CO to get it, but you had already scooped it. New stance looks great.

He doesn't let it out of it's protective garage very often. It's kinda of like Sasquatch . . . . You hear the stories and the tales, but very few have actually seen it in the wild.
