Picked up a Holley 600, vacuum secondary at a garage sale. National Carburators is pretty close to my office so I might let them handle the rebuild.
Gonna keep fiddling with the 650 in the meantime.

Just ordered the decal kit for the pace car. I also ordered a set of repro body side mouldings last week, which should show up today. I'm hoping it's out of the paint shop in a couple weeks.

Started removing the harness on the Saleen. What a pita under the drivers side of the dash! No room to move two hands at the same time to pull connectors apart.

Finished up the dash install after replacing heater core. Job took around 8 hours all together over 3 days. I only unhooked speedometer and 2 connections on HVAC controller. Everything else stayed in place, I just took out upper screws and lower hardware and pulled dash forward. I did disconnect A/C lines so I could pull heater core box out further for easy access,. All in all it went easier than I expected thanks to the thread on here, couldn't have done it without this forum.

Move around Mustang parts between my storage units. My replacement K member too a ride into the same unit as the car it’s going into eventually.

Broke my 1986GT out of its rusty cage (storage unit) and ran it around town a bit. Didn’t beat it, just drove it. Had a blast. Still can’t belive how well the suspension combo in it rides and handles!

If you even need to move a K member, this is a great way to do it! One person job!

Got my pace car back from paint. I'm working out of town, so haven't even had a chance to see it in person. My buddy did the paint and body work, window tint, and decal kit. Still needing a few things but should be ready for this spring and summer for cruise-ins and mustang club cruises! Name: FB_IMG_1522393510796.jpg

    Man, that’s a nice T-bird.

I finally broke down and bought some Pioneer 6x8’s for the hatch area. Sounds pretty respectable in my driveway with the car off...running down the road might be a different story, though.

Did a bunch of, what should have been, unnecessary work! After replacing the faulty fan controller 3 TIMES!!!! I finally gave up and went with a different brand/style. The problem was that the new controller had a larger temp switch. I had a bung welded in my radiator for a 1/8" switch, but the new one was 3/8". So I decided the easiest route was to move it to the intake. Unfortunately, there was no port available. I did, however, have another intake lying around with two extra coolant ports. So I figured what the heck...just swap them. Then, I ran into multiple issues. Clearance issues that required grinding away some material, modifying the throttle cable bracket, and a few other gems that just made a simple job turn into utter crap.

Anyway, that's done. A little late to try it out and see if the problem is fixed, but I'll check it tomorrow.

I also took some time this afternoon to run my pace car seats down to a local upholstery shop. I'm going to have them put the new covers on (I ordered the upholstery kit today from LMR). They're charging around $400 to do it, which also included dying all the plastic and the headrests to make them look new again. I figure that was a pretty good price for me to not have to deal with it. Besides...the other local shop wanted $1400 just to slap some covers on. (And no, that's not a typo).

Ordered a mountain of sound deadened for my 85 build. 2 gallons of spray-on and 50 sq ft of mat. And a cup of shut the hell up for the fox rattles.....

Tracked down and bought a hood and doors and LX facia for 85-86. Now to get the LX nose to Austin for the 85 build so I have a nice GT bumper for my 86 build.

Started seriously shopping for tires for the 85-006 build.

Just curious what you’re doing with the spray on stuff in addition to the mat. Or is the spray on for the underside.

The spray on sound deadner will be sprayed on the floor, hatch, etc.

The additional mats will be used to supplement the spray on in high noise areas of the vehicle.

Got it thanks. Just asking because I’m doing my 85, but only but the mat material.
