Default Svo front upgrade and run svo wheels

Which of the 20 combinations that have given me a headache will yield me running my stock wheels correctly while upgrading the control arm and preferably keeping my konis. I’ve read 30 articles that all give different opinions but none saying which will keep my wheels in correct depth and position

What are you asking? What offset works best?

Basically which setup puts me able to run my svo wheels up front and sitting in correct posiiton offset wise and after reading some of the post I don’t want it siting to far foreward or back on wheel well. I’d like to be able to run my konis but that is negotionable. I have multiple generations of 5 lug spindles and control arms all ready. As well as multiple brake systems. I just want it to sit as close to stock as I can with with upgraded control arms

The only way you can keep your stock konis is to run the stock SVO control arm. The overall length of the strut protrudes into the opening of the lower arm...unlike any of the other setups.

What is the purpose of changing the control arms on an SVO?

If it's a balljoint thing, they can be redone using SN95 parts and adapters from MM and retain stock spindles.

or that's the perfect time to put on SN95 spindles and better brakes

there are Koni setups available for non-SVO cars. My Saleen 85-006 has them. Lots of other options out there with and without coilovers too.

    Good luck!

It looks like the SVO wheels in the picture are inward about 3/4" from where they would be on an SVO. But they do look nice on your Capri

Are you trying to upgrade the svo A-arms or the brakes? If your svo a-arms are just wore out send them to Jturbo and have him machine them out and swap in sn95 units like I did. works good.
If you blink at the end of the straight away you'll miss the twisties and what fun would that be!

Once the A-arms are done toss on 94-95 spindles and sn95 dual piston calipers from a 99-04. Will work great if you switch the rear to sn95 brakes and use an M1858 1" master cyl too. Get your 60-0 down under 100 feet instead of 155+.....

X2 balljoints would drop your roll center too.

I have sn95 spindles and control arms. I have my 04 brakes to go up front but maintaining stock svo rear units as they are bigger. I just don’t want my wheels sticking out. Everything says something different. I want it to sit as close to stock as possible.

Do not use 2004 Mustang brakes with SVO rear brakes. These brakes are far too small. The only SN95 option that works are the 1994-98 front brakes. You only need to change the calipers. Rotors are the same.

Yea - the 99-04 twin piston work with smaller rear.

SVOs are a horse of a different color and they don't play nicely together with anything else

Default Svo front upgrade and run svo wheels

So even with an adjustable valve I’m going to run into issues?

    Caliper piston area:

    SVO 4,185mm^2
    1994-98 GT/V6 3,421mm^2
    1999-2004 GT/V6 2,561mm^2

The 1994-98 option won't be perfect, but with an adjustable valve and high friction front pads it will be decent.
