Default Hemmings - 1985 Mustang GT Black Vert

I like this car. I wish it did not have the R-134a change, or aftermarket radio.

    Was on eBay three times.

Has the wrong hood stripe, no?

    Nice 85.

Yes, the hood stripe should include the argent gray GT symbol which would be the same color as the MUSTANG GT on the back trunk. I think it is also flat black and should be charcoal gray in a satin finish. The add states being repainted several years ago, but the 1985-1986 charcoal gray trim was botched...look at the side body moldings and head lamp buckets compared to the trim around the windshield.

Yeah, when I spoke to him, when it was on eBay. I mentioned the trim but wasn’t 100%.

It’s still a nice 85, maybe I was too cheap at the time. I offered him $7,500. Seemed like a good guy, gets his cars from clients that he does work for.

Seen it on ebay... a couple of the photos showed the rear bumper area is spidering from an impact but no mention of it with the ads.

looks like a decent 85 aside from the trim issues and shiny wheels.

Better fold in those convertible latches before putting the boot on! That's a good way to ruin an (assuming) original boot. Speedo & tach needle looks to be VERY red compared to the faded 55mph indicator and the other smaller needles. Probably an attempt to freshen them up. Tough to tell but would like to see the mufflers....the tails look to be 2.5" not 2.25". Regardless, not a bad asking price for a 59k mile mostly original car. I'd say the $7,500 offer was fair...at that money it's a very nice cruiser and other than a paint job, not a lot of work to bring back to "concours restored".
