Actually, the piece I am talking about is from the SVO. The factory piece went from the Cat. Flange to the muffler and then the tail pipe, all one piece. I know the 2.3 turbo non svo exhaust used a shorter muffler. I don’t know how all the other options 2.3 na, 6 cyl and v8s went from the exhaust flange to tail pipe so maybe just having an OEM quality tail pipe would fit most 79-84 cars.

Well that's exactly what I need. The previous owner hacked of the stock exhaust just after the cat flange and welded in a glass pack and single parts store tip. My plan had been to just go with the 86 style dual set up. If something like this was available I would definitely use that.

I couldn't find the intermediate pipe that goes between the cat and the muffler for my 79 2.3 turbo. After some research I found that the 3.8 V6 intermediate pipe from Walker is an exact fit.

Sounds like walker needs to update their catalog

Walker has basically stopped supporting pre '82 mustang exhaust and only has limited 82-86 parts. I used to be able to get the chrome twin tip 84 style tailpipe from them.

    SS pipe?
    Chrome or SS tips?
    OEM style hanger?

Muffler no problem. Can use about anything there.

So far have to cobble up replacement tips with regular pipe, angle cut end to duplicate.
Then tapping them on the remaining tip stubs.
Going to use stainless next batch.
Chrome looks best, but hard to keep clean and from rusting on a daily driver.

Seem to recall perforated resonator-like inserts in the oem short version turbo engine twin tips.
They were exposed when the rusted chrome outer pipe tips came off.
The true dia of the exhaust hole in the tips was reduced to like 2" by the inserts.
V8 did not have them, nor did the 79 long version dual tips, or any aftermarket offerings.
