Default Best rear brake shoe option?

Does anyone have an educated opinion on the difference between the Porterfield R4S and the MM rear kit for the 9" drum as opposed to OEM? Is one more aggressive than the other? I'm leaning towards the MM's due to the fact that I can get them here in Canada through a local distributor. I'm running a 11'', 73mm , HPS pad setup on the front of my 84 Cougar with 15/16" wheel cylinders on the rear with stock 9"shoes. The bias is "almost" dead on with the Wilwood proportioning valve turned all the way in but I'm running 255s on the rear and only 225s on the front. It would probably be great with all tires being equal size, but having a lower CF on the front tires is allowing the fronts to lock up first before the rears. My idea is to put a more aggressive shoe on the rear to allow lock up first, then adjust the bias to an optimum setting with the prop valve to work with the staggered tire size. Hell, I never had this much of a problem running skinny's and slicks on the race car...LOL.
    Thanks

Some perspective - the 93 cobra could stop shorter than any other previous fox by a good margin. It went 60-0 in 144 feet with disc brakes. (SVO was 155.)

the full 87-93 kit from MM with lines and shoes/pads yields 114 out of a drum brake rear setup! Wow!

60-0 in a well built SN95 brake equipped car is sub 100. Depending upon tires some get sub 95 or sub 90.

PM Jack Hidley here on FEP and he can probably give you the best information in regards to the brake shoe compounds.

    Good Luck!

I did but realize now I may have put him in a position where I asked for compound information and comparisons. My bad. However, I still value his input if he wishes and will respect him for staying neutral if he choses.
