You have a few choices. Running an electric fan may push you up to the next level. Many fans draw a fair amount of power. You can upgrade your 1G to higher output, 100 Amps. 3G is the way to go for steady high output. There are lots of posts calling out the small case model and the needed wiring upgrades.

Are you looking to keep the cost down?
If not, I got the top of the line PA Performance 100% brand-new alternator.
If you order directly from PA Performance, you can also get the alternator powder coated for $40 extra. For me, it helps to keep the "salting" down from the aluminum case.

From their catalog, for your '82, here's what you'd need:

    200A 3G Alternator (1619HO)
    $309.00
    Product Description
This is a very popular replacement where highly increased capacity is needed. This kit is more popular for highly (electrically) modified cars. Being slightly larger diameter than early (1965-1985) Ford alternators some minor bracket clearance / modification may be needed. You can see this in the “tech info” page.

IF you want to go the Salvage Yard route:

here is a little info that may help you find the one you are looking for:

The 3g is Ford’s most popular alternator for
91-2003. Some vehicles are equipped with the 3g even later than
that. You know you have a 3g if you can see the entire gray or white voltage
regulator on the back of the alternator. The regulator is what you had to
unplug the wires from. There is no visible cooling fan on the 3g. It comes
in 95 and 130 amp versions but takes the same rebuild kit. Notice the 2
holes between the 2 ribs in pic 1. This is a 130 amp. If there were 4 holes, it
    would be the 95 amp
