He's also an idiot on some of his pre-sale videos. Needs to do a bit more research before he speaks.....calling the '82 GT air intake an "enlarged Boss intake" and reason for the cut-out and scoop in the hood Oh, and "cast iron valve covers", or a "1984 GT Coupe" that is clearly a hatchback. Just because Ford Marketing claimed "The Boss is Back" in 1982 doesn't mean you can invent some mythical intake that only gave the 2-bbl carb'd 5.0 High Output engine a whopping 157hp

I think this thread has been derailed big time. I only wanted to mention the fox body cars coming up for sale. Not debate the fact that the prices will be overinflated. I'm more interested in knowing the facts about the cars for sale. Not who is an idiot or full of s$&t.

If your watching the "Gas Rhonda" cars today (1/12/1 then you are watching the Mecum auction in Kissimmee, FL. Barrett Jackson Scottsdale is next week 1/15/18 through 1/21/18.

Apologies to the OP but as he already stated, this thread derailed long before I got here so I don't feel bad. I am curious how some people feel like BJ "RAN UP THE PRICES" on cars? The only way I can think of that that statement could possibly be true is if you don't believe the people that bid on the cars to a certain price every actually paid anything for them and it was just a show for TV. I guess that must be it? I would have to be. Because if a bidder bid on a car and wrote a check for it, that's got nothing to do with BJ. Assuming the sold price and the check match up, I can't see what BJ has to do with the value of a car?

Homer you are right. It is the people bidding these prices up not BJ. They are merely the guy in between the buyer and seller. But the biggest point I make about all of this is the fact that old car prices were very reasonable and easily obtainable for practically anyone until these auctions started being aired on tv. As stated earlier every Joe Mullet sees a ( insert car name here) that is restored to perfection go for what most of us here consider to be absurd prices and then automatically thinks his pos is worth something close to that price because one "just" like it sold at that big auction

Back on topic...there have been some great deals on Day 1! Just watched an 1984 Vette with 2,900 miles hammer at $11,500. Now I know the '84 Crossfire Injection was a red headed step child, but a showroom/wrapper condition car for ~half of original MSRP? Compare that to how the similar condition, low mile Four-Eye GT's are doing today, and somebody got a great deal. Hell I would have bought it for that and sat on it for a few years.

did selling at bj bring a premium on car vs. the individual sale. just curious, my guess is it did but with selling premiums probably close to a wash.

I have to agree. By the time you take out commissions and fees it would be a wash to retail market. Just get a quick sell this way and not deal with the low ballers.
