Default Removing A/C - How to Seal up the HVAC box?

While I am working on updating my car, I am removing the A/C items from the car. The core is coming out of the HVAC box, and I will need to seal it back up. Anyone done it previously and how did you do it? Plastic weld the opening closed with a new piece is my first guess.

When I replaced the evaporator core in my HVAC box I used 3M plastic epoxy. I drilled 2 holes and used 2 zip ties to hold it in place and then epoxied the seams, and after it cured I trimmed the zip ties.
