Default Back Surgery Today December 18, 2017

In less than two hours, I am heading to West Valley Medical Center (1717 Arlington, Caldwell, ID 83605) for my back surgery. I expect to be admitted for one night and should return home tomorrow, if all goes well.

Hi everyone. Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. The surgery went well and I was able to return home after spending one night in the hospital. I am very sore, but healing. My post-op follow-up appointment is on the 28th. Bed rest and pain-management is the main course of action.

Glad to hear things went well, Craig. Take good care and take it easy, from a quite versed chronic back pain sufferer.

Glad to hear that all went well with the surgery Craig.
Stay down at least as long as the doc recommends.........I know several people who after a back surgery, felt so much better, they overdid it (too soon) and are paying the price.
You are in our prayers for a speedy recovery and a Merry Christmas!

Thank you, everyone. Post-op appointment went well. Doc says everything is healing up fine. I do still have some pain, spasms, numbness, and tingling issues. Doc says those are "normal", due the extended time the nerves were compressed. As the nerves regain function, those symptoms may, (or may not), go away. Only time will tell.

I work with a lovley (I guess you might call him, um, old, he's 60 something) Returned Service man, Jon. Same deal as you.

He says you know you're healed when a Lady in a full length kimono can walk on your back...

    He's not healed yet.

Hope there a little laughter in that, and it doesn't cause you pain.
