I have an '83 with a '89 rebuilt roller. I've worked with the factory carb - most recently adding center-hung float bowls so it would not starve turning right (left was no problem). That did the trick, but it still is a bear to start and I'm about ready to go the aftermarket TBI EFI route (FITech). I've read at least one string here where folks seem to have had good success with the 400HP kit. I'm wondering what the best approach is for a fuel system upgrade? Will a late-Fox EFI fuel pump drop into a 1983 gas tank, or do I need to go to a later year tank as well?
I like the aftermarket TBI approach because I can retain my carb intake, stock air cleaner, etc.
I don't want to invest too much in the fuel system, as I am thinking my engine and trans may find their way into a NA Miata in a couple of years....
Thanks for the ideas!
