    Default T-top headliner material

Does the vinyl headliner used with T-tops have any foam backing? I have the new vinyl, but don't have the original material that was on the car. So when I put the new material in, will I need a foam baker?

The deteriorated headliner on my 84 t-top had some flaky stuff underneath, but I don't think it was foam. I tried to heat up the original headliner material and glue it all back down, but it has shrunk up and come loose in a few spots. Still better than it was. I don't think that there was a foam backer, because if the vinyl is any thicker, you can't get the black rubber t-top trim pieces on without the trim wrinkling or other problems.
