Thread: New Garage

    Default New Garage Photos Fixed

Moved to a historic neighborhood last year which came with an original type tiny garage about 10x18 that I could barely fit my 84 mustang in. From day one we wanted a new garage and it was finalized in 9/17. Surprised the city let me build this large but I was pleased they agreed to it and very happy with the garage, style, and build quality. It took a 3 person crew about 6 weeks to complete. They did not skip any corners and try to do things on the cheap. We wanted plenty of light and paid extra for the double french glass door opening to the rear yard.

In the winter we keep our daily cars in the middle and I keep my Camaro on the left side and Mustang on the Right side. I keep my TA and other Mustang at my shop which is about .5 miles away.

Size is 24x40. It sits off an alley way that ends just past my house and the alley really only feeds our house. Other side of the alley is a large open lot that cannot be built on which is a major plus to the garage as my son plays in the alley and lot all the time.

we added the patio at the last minute and glad we did

    end of alley

    other side of empty lot

25K actual miles, never restored. only mods are wheels and exhaust. original tires and wheels are in my basement and mint.
great car. t tops and factory non ac, 5 speed.

Your pics didn't embed properly, but the link addresses work.

Nice garage and nice Mustang. But seriously, Mustang and Camaro? You are a conflicted individual.

You need to edit out the " width=800 height=600" out of your links to get them to work.

Beautiful garage in a nice quaint area. Congrats.

And nice collection of cars! That TA and Camaro are sweet. I come from a long line of F bodies too. Your 84 GT reminds me a lot of mine. I think I remember seeing it for sale online a year or 2 ago.

Hey, if I had the garage space, I'd have an IROC Camaro sharing garage space with my mustang. Nice garage.

Awesome looking Garage. Now tell the wife you need a bigger tool box since you have plenty of room. It worked for me. Nice looking bunch of hot rods. I only have 2 a 1984 5.0 L and a 2007 Gt convertible. Just North of you just outside of Dayton.

Nice garage and cars! I'm jealous of the space you have with four slots plus in between the two doors! I have a decent 24 x 26 double car garage but I'm stuck with 8' ceilings. I wish I could get a lift but it wouldn't be of any help really.

Are your overhead doors 8'? Could you install a lift and double stack two cars if you wanted?

Thanks for sharing! With no insulation or heat this time of year here, I'd be closed for business out there

I'd park them with the fastest Mustang in front...... natural order of things n stuff.

On a related note, I double dog dare anyone to let me work on their Camaro, Firebird, or TransAm. I've worked on 10 of these cars over the years. One and only time I helped my dad with our 68 before we sold it, my aunt rolled it a few days later. I was 2. Too bad, that was what I rode home from the hospital in when I was born.

The others met similar fate-- ALL of them. The one that survived the longest was in a creek bed in 12 days and stripped in a junk yard in 3 weeks....... just a slight curse- no big deal, right.

We had a saying at the body shop my dad worked at. "We don't do Camaros here. No TransAms, not Firebirds, and definitely NO Camaros." Lol

Needless to say I'm a Mustang guy.

I agree, but it wouldn't be in the garage with my Foxes...it would have to have its own space

My shop is less than a mile away with a lift and huge tool box so I do most of the work there. Its a fortunate setup.

Here is a link to my website for my classic car business. I run it by myself but a good friend of mine goes in half on all the TR6's. He knows them very well which is a great bonus. I really want to get fox bodies but they are hard to find at a good price point to resell and make it worth the while.

Awesome cars, all have manual transmissions, getting very hard to find cars like that anymore. I see a lot of manual cars being converted to automatics when newer drivelines are put into them, which is a crime in my book. A lot of folks can't drive the stick anymore.

The garage is great and over due. i have always had older homes in older neighborhoods so usually the garages suck. We knocked down the old pile and built a dream garage. Finally have one. Sometimes I just stand in it looking around, just great to have 1000 sq. ft. outside of the house.
