Take a very CLOSE look at the pics. There is lots of over-spray on this "Original paint" Mustang. I think this one needs a close inspection before purchase. Most blatant in image #4.

I also noted that the emblems on the trunk lid were misplaced as well. The Ghia emblem is on the correct side, but it's like someone forgot about it and just jammed it in where they could. On th YouTube video, the did say that the seats had been recovered, but couldn't find a perfect match for the Ghia cloth. The vinyl roof is also new.

Very nice car, I like it a lot.

The misplaced emblem is odd, and Bryan's conjecture is probably correct that some work has been done to the car. That said, given the abysmal quality control of the day, maybe it was the assembly line worker who made this "mistake." ???

The replaced vinyl roof and upholstery are not unexpected. My seats have had excellent care, but given their age and 96K of use, they are starting to noticeably deteriorate.

The plastic steering wheel has the period-correct "leather" cover, which means it is likely cracked, which again is very common.

It's another example of the wacky ways the cars could be equipped. Loaded Ghia coupe, vinyl roof, the uncommon 16 slot wheels, power locks.... but no console.

With my MCA hat on, this car illustrates how hard it is to find an early Four Eye which is in original, unrestored, show-worthy condition. The cars are almost 40 years old and show their age. Even low-mileage, well-cared-for cars like this have had, or need, work. I would love to see this car in person to be able to gauge what work it would need to be competitive in Occasional Driven or even Concours classes.

I guess when a seller says "..original paint.." and there is obvious over-spray...it makes me wonder what else is wrong. The steering wheel does appear to have cracks in video, I will assume there are some under the 'leather wrap'. So what else is there but not disclosed. Tom has all the qualities of a used car salesman. We talked...and best I got was a dance and..Oh, I have another buyer...I need you to decide now if you really want it....wire me a deposit. No Paypal...which does provide some protections. Too many red flags for me....without seeing car in person.
