It's not a fox but one of the coolest cars I've ever seen. Is that some kind of fuel injection setup?

Back in the day, there were about 3532 units built (RS2600) to allow it to race with modifications in the European Touring Car Challenge.

    Engines were like this

They eventually became the 160 hp 2.8 liter Bosch K Jetronic 1980 to 1987 European Capri III's, never sent to the US

For 1972, Ford needed to win the challenge.

To swing it, they pulled the parts out of the first years European Touring Car Challenge Capri RS 2600's that were too slow.

The 1971 versions with the modified 2.6 liter Fuel injection 150 hp engine then for 1972 got new English Alloy heads with three branch exhasts, a vastly better Injection system, and a radically bored, stroked, and changed almost 3 liter engine got built around the stock parts.

The name 'Cologne Capri' is a fairly abused one, and used on just about everything, but there are two more Capri's here in New Zealand, one raced by Paul Fahey in the 70's, and another earlier RS2600, both factory race cars, but apparently not officially Cologne Capri's.

They're loosly refered to as Cologne Capri's.

The name comes from Germany where they were built, but it appears unless the engines were built there too, they're not Cologne Capri's.

After 1972, the German Capris got the 1973 RS3100 Essex V6, and then a 1974 Quad Cam Cosworth GAA 430 hp engine.

Development of the Cologne Capris continured, the 4 cylinder Cosworth BDA Turbo Zakspeed Capri became the frame and engine under the IMSA US Mercury Capri.

It all started in 1972, with that car!
