Default ticking in driver side valve cover

I got a crate rebuilt motor last summer from Gear head engines. The car is not a daily driver and has less than 2000 miles put on since the engine install.

What generally is the cause of ticking in the rocker arms? Engine oil is clean and full.

I had a friend run into this same problem.
Turned out , that be had used a set of tin ford valve covers , and the baffel was seperating from the cover.
We took the baffel out , and no more tick .

If it is a rocker... clearance in the valve train where there shouldn't be any. Something loose, something wearing...

Gear head told me I can open up a trouble ticket to get a claim started. I wanted to see what possibly would cause that and if its a big deal to correct. Only because I just had the car painted and the last thing I need is mechanics climbing all over the car.

Would pulling the valve cover off void your warranty? I'd want to take a peak and see. I know sometimes you have to go back and check rocker arms to make sure they don't work loose with fresh builds. I have one I need to check, but it's efi and I'm not looking forward to pulling the upper plenum. It was a pain to make it work (explorer intake).

Are you sure it's a rocker arm and not an exhaust leak?
