Default At what point do people start pitching 30year old parts

At what point do people just throw out Mustang/Capri parts? After listing on here and/or ebay with no luck. I have stuff now on Ebay for $10bucks and getting no takers. And always seems that when you have what somebody wants shipping is too much. I'm even thinking of making somebody a great deal if they showed up with a trailer

If you have not used those parts in the last 6 months throw it away, give it away or sell it away.

    Just make it go away.

    Which ever is quicker!

There's an all-Ford swap meet in Columbus a couple times a year, which is about 3 hrs from me. I see a lot of odds n ends sold there and have bought quite a bit, myself. May be worth checking into something like that.

What he said. The Columbus all Ford Swap meet is coming up. It's always the Saturday immediately following Thanksgiving Day. Get yourself a spot up there. It will pay for itself. I have literally bought at least a ton of stuff up there and sold stuff several times. There is a 30-45 minute line to get in that backs way back up on the interstate. The crowds are insane.

Its a pita to store parts, but my 81 year old Dad does pretty well selling first gen mustang parts that weren't desireable in the past. He's selling refurbisehed jacks, door trunk latches, gauges etc. If all else fails at least give the stuff away if possible.

Its vicious circle. I have a hard time finding what I need and cant sell what I have. I have actually done ok selling some parts on CL and Ebay but it takes a long time. I have given away a bunch of parts because I couldn't sell them. Even some stuff at free nobody wanted. I find four eyed stuff is harder to sell and when I need something its hard to find. If its something that can also be used on a aero car it seems to sell better. I don't like to hang on to stuff to long unless its for a specific project and I know I am going to use it.

When they get so rusty that touching them turns them to dust.

When it's get rid of them or get served with divorce papers.

When you're desperate for cash for a project and can sell them on eBay or at the swap meet.

Yep - it's a cycle. I agree with the bullet points above.

Candidly there are a lot of things people don't even recognize as parts. Rocker panels, front or rear subframe rails, etc.

For me depending on what it is space also becomes a problem.

I go to Columbus but don't have the means to transport the stuff 2.5hrs and then to stay in a hotel. I'm Slowing losing barn space do to bad roofs, wall and foundation. I'm slowing moving to newer location but smaller space.

this was more of a rant about parts not selling for the millionths time and tired of looking at them and Wife asking what is going on with this or that.
