    Default What is this sensor?

I was tearing apart an engine I got for cheaps. I believe it’s a 94 gt block with gt40 heads. I was swapping out my timing cover from my 82 to retain the mechanical pump and front accessories. Out of curiousity, what is this sensor? I found it broken.
    sensor?

Looks like oil pressure. Stock foxbody has a thread in extension and a bigger around can. when they blow your oil is gone in no time.

Thats the oil pressure sending unit. It's totally dry and obviously has been that way for a while so damage was likely done during engine removal/transport. Less than $20 at any McParts store.

It has nothing to do with engine control or function. It just works the oil pressure gauge in the instrument cluster.
