Default What size tires for 18s on stock SVO

Ive got a set of premium wheels from a 2016 mustang. 18x8
I plan to use them on my 84 svo. I am going to run the ford b springs and the rest will be stock svo. What size tires should I use? I want to go 245 width.
    Any suggestions? 245 40 or 245 35?
    Thanks
    Nolan

18 inch is gonna rub for sure. If your gonna go with them get the lowest profile as possible. Gonna look sweet.....just gonna rub.

Just because they are 18's doesn't guarantee they will rub.

Overall tire diameter, tire width, wheel offset, ride height, and alignment will all have an affect on how or if a setup rubs.

OEM tire diameter was @ 25.6" originally so consider that when looking for tires. Obviously lowering the car can cause rubbing even with the stock overall diameter. So you might have to consider going to a shorter profile to keep rubbing to a minimum.

The other issue may be the offset on the 2016 wheels. I am not familiar with the 2015 and later wheels so I am not sure what the OEM offset is. I believe it is around 40-45mm so you may need to run a small spacer front/rear to move the wheel/tire away from the struts, etc. Just keep that in mind.

A 245/40/18 will be @ 25.7" overall diameter and similar to OEM tire size, but may still rub due to the B springs.

A 245/35/18 will be @ 0.5"-0.75" shorter depending on brand, etc. so that may be just fine for your setup. Good Luck!

Yes the offset is 40mm. Ive fit the wheels on the car without tires. With the steering wheel straight they don't hit the strut but who knows with them turned.

That offset may be fine for the SVO with it's wider track, but not 100%.

I know a 17X8 with the 30mm fits pretty well. So the 10mm additional may not be too much, but worse case you can also space them out if needed with a hub centric wheel spacer. Good luck!

I had a set of Bullitt's on it before and they stuck out too wide so I'm hoping these will tuck in a little more. Thanks for the advice!
