    Default Anyone running 14" wheels?

My 79 cobra came with a full set of 14" wheels, which I'm sorta digging. I'm planning on cleaning them up and slapping a set of Cooper Cobras on it.

My other options are to go with a set of Weld draglites, which always look good imo... or something completely different. Or...I have an extra set of turbines with basically new tires on it. I can keep those on and swap around wheels/tires from my 4 other fox body cars (all 4-lug). That seems like a pain, but then again, it kinda seems like a waste buying 5 new sets of tires when most of my cars will do more sitting than anything.

    Thoughts?

The front wheel is the 14" I'm planning on using.

For some reason 15" tires are almost always cheaper and seem to wear better for me personally. The stock sizes are hard to find and kinda expensive and most 14" rims are 6" or narrower. I fought 15" rims forever. Now I run all 10 holes or turbine 15" rims. Can pick and choose tires sizes and brands. Currently I run 215/65r15's which are a common accord/Camry size. Tires are cheap and everywhere no more calling 10 tire shops to get a set.

Unfortunately, they don't make that size. I'd have to go with 215/70 (in the Coopers). I'll have to check some other brands and see what's available in 14".

Well, it looks like the Cooper Cobras come in 235/60r14. I think I could live with that.

Nice! I always liked those wheels. I put a set on a 79 capri many years ago, with white letters out.

    15's on 4cyl were 205/65/15
    15's on V8 were 225/60/15

Cooper Cobra 235/60/15 fit great but keep in mind they are 26" tall vs 25.86 tall.

A 235/55/15 would be within 0.03 of being the same height as 225/60 if I'm doing the math correctly.

Btw Refer to my FS ad and PM me if interested in welds I posted a while back - 4 lug15x7 draglites. Picture below on my sons 86 ragtop

My coupe had some 14" mesh wheels when I bought it. The tires were 215/60R14

Those are a trip! A full 2" smaller than what was "big" at the time.
