Brock, I talked to John about this about an hour ago and he advised me to call him back in a week so he could get some more info about the trailer and where I could stay for a couple of nights, additionally, my wife and I have to work out the logistics to attend this event and be there for the meet and greet. We have to figure out how to have someone watch our two bassett hounds and no, we're not bringing them.
I want to help you guys out on this if I can, plus, I need to get away from all this current madness that's going on. The last time I loaded up the trailer and went away was in Feb. 2017 at the World of Wheels in Milwaukee.
Double post, sorry.

T-Minus 29 days and counting!
The excitement locally is getting pretty hard to contain!
We have added a Friday night (September 28th) Pre-Show Kickoff Meet and Greet from 5 pm to whenever at Cruisers Bar and Grill, which is of the show sponsors.
Saturday after the show, we will be having a Cruise-In at the Burger King lot on Dodge St. which will begin at 6 pm. If there is enough interest, I will be leading a short cruise down Dodge St., through the Old Market area and past the old Ford Model T plant. While this building is now condos, the old water tower still stands with the painted Ford logo on it. We might be able to have enough time to set up and take some photos with the water tower in the background.

10 days till the show!
Man are we excited here in Omaha! We are hoping to have an excellent turnout of not only cars, but foxbody people.
We are pretty confident we are ready and have done everything that we can to make sure that this is a fun and memorable show for everyone.
Hope to see everyone out there with or without your cars!

I plan to be there. Devon is in Missouri now so he’s not going to make it.
I was looking this up, but it's the same weekend as NMRA Bowling Green.

Really wanted to bring the Dominator down to this event, so I waited until the last minute to decide, but forecast calling for 60% chance of rain in Omaha and cool. Cant convince myself to drive down two hours and have it rained out. Have fun to all who do attend, and weather permitting I will come down next year if held. My son said he should have his 85 drag car complete and will bring it as well next year.
Have fun all!

I wish everyone could have made it, but I totally understand the dilemma.
The weather ended up being pretty crappy with the cold and the most of the day heavy mist/light rain combo.
We also had to make some last minute changes to the entertainment, which actually worked out better IMHO.
We were really concerned that the weather was really going to almost kill this event but we continued trudging along and hoping for the best!! We were committed to having a show...even if the snow started flying!
With that being said......we had what I would consider it an amazing turnout with a total of 69 cars that came and most of them stuck out the weather. Some of these cars had never seen rain before in their lives and the owners were extremely cool and grateful to be a part of this. In fact, one car still had its original 1985 windshield wipers still attached to the arms and they looked new as day one!!!!!
We had cars come in from Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado and Eastern Iowa near the Illinois border as well as from all across Nebraska. Multiple "long haulers" drove their cars 3-600 miles one way just to attend this one!
Another cool aspect of the show is that out of the 69 cars that attended, 22 of them fall in the 4-Eye class!!!! The 4-eyes made a really killer showing, which seems uncommon a lot of times.
I'm not sure what the total car count for Foxtoberfest was in its first year, but I imagine that we had to of been close.
I believe that had the weather forecast had been better in the week leading up to the event, we would have broke 120 cars easily.

That's a great turnout for an inaugural event Brock!! IIRC Foxtoberfest had less than 10 or 20 cars their first event, and less than 50 or 60 the second year before it exploded into what it is 8 years later. I wrote about it three years and had all those details....I'd have to try to dig that up.

OK, I was wrong. The South East Fox Body group use to have a gathering of ~10-20 cars as an "open house" at FMR's shop, which is where the idea of Foxtoberfest originated. The inaugural event in 2011 had 60 cars....so you won NICE WORK! Year two doubled to ~120 cars...maybe I can attend next year and help you with that growth figure!

Here you go. This is the first Foxtoberfest. I've been to them all. And look how nice the weather was then. You sir, are on to something good there. Great turnout. I wish you hadn't started a new thread because I meant to post this on the other one. Now there are two, LOL.

As an FYI, we are going to do this again this year!
Fingers crossed that we can have another awesome turnout of cars and hopefully much better weather this time around!
