Default 84 GT Turbo Auction Car back on the road

I purchased the 84 GT Turbo at a local auction after seeing posted here. I sent my wife to buy it and bring it home on the trailer. After some new belts and a starter solenoid she was up and running. As I continue to discuss dig into it, I do find a few more issues here and there. I still have a new dash pad to install and continue to clean things up. I finally got all the DMV paperwork done and classic car insurance. I did have a bit of an issue convincing the insurance company that the value should be higher. I kept going up listing prices sold for some fox bodies and get finally agreed. Here are some pictures.

That car has been one of my favorite GT Turbos on FEP, glad it's still in the "family". The only change that I would make would be to swap on 16" TRX.

I have Safeco car insurance for our cars, including the 84 GT. $202 per yr for agreed value of $10k, full coverage, no appraisal, no driving restrictions.

Is that Bryan's (Gemini1999) old car? Man it sure looks like it...

How in the world did it end up at an auction?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found my answer here...

Kevin, it sure looks good. I really like the color combination, very eye catching without being loud. It would look good with TRX's but I think it looks fine with the 16 slots.

I see that lineup of cars in the driveway.

Just gonna add to what has already been said....looking good, and again MAJOR KUDOS to Mrs. KevinK for going to lug the car back for you! If you decide to remove the door speakers and restore it back to original, it is a pretty simple process. They make replacement lower carpet for the verts. I took my panels off and went to a local upholster. For ~$65 per door they filled in the hole in the backing board and applied the new carpet. Turned out great.

If you had to argue about the value of your insurance then I think I would be considering a different insurance company. I have Grundy and they have never given me a hard time about the values of any of my cars. I actually had to call them because they were upping the value automatically and I felt they were over valued. Plus it was making my premiums go up.

I had similar issues with another insurance comany on my 03 Mach 1. I do not low ball the value of my cars. I go on the higher realistic side based on current sale prices. They told me my Mach 1 was only worth $13k. Try to find one with 8000 miles and you will see they are going for $18-20k. It's just a game they play with new customers.

Good to know. I found Alpine speakers in the rear quarter panels under the carpet. Looks like a nice install. From what I'm seeing, I think this is the second aftermarket radio install. Rear speakers not working, factory amp under the passemger seat and not sure if the front speakers are working. The door speakers may not be needed.
